Pastor Andrea Clark Chambers

Rev. Dr. Andrea Clark Chambers, a second-generation preacher and native of Tulsa, served as Assistant Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. M. C. Potter and Rev. Marla Mayberry for almost 17 years. Rev. Chambers is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Northeastern State University.

In 2006, she earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 27, Rev. Chambers accepted the call to serve as the Assistant Pastor in Antioch, her home church, where she was committed to the full range of pastoral ministry including: administration, pastoral care, preaching, teaching, leadership training and development, youth ministry, prison ministry, Evangelism & Outreach, and other ministry programs. In addition to her pastoral responsibilities at Antioch, she served as the first female President of the North Tulsa Baptist Minister’s Conference, is co-founder of the Women’s Clergy Fellowship, served on the North Tulsa Leadership Development Council, WomanPreach! Inc. Leadership Team, Alliance of Baptists Community Member, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Rev. Chambers has also served on various boards including the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OCCJ) Tulsa Chapter, the North Tulsa Community Education Task Force and Equity for Women in the Church, where she developed their flagship program Calling in the Key of She, an empowerment program that focuses on empowering women and girls for leadership in the church. She has done mission work with women and children living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa, served as a delegate of the first ever women’s delegation to explore the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East, and was one of only 65 Baptist clergy from across the country invited to the White House in 2012 to have meaningful dialogue with President Barack Obama around issues, concerns and struggles of our parishioners and community residents. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Tulsa Community College when her schedule permits and is often invited to preach, teach, and facilitate workshops at various churches.

Rev. Chambers completed a Master of Theological Studies degree at Phillips Theological Seminary in 2010 and recently completed her Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformational Leadership for Women in Ministry at Phillips in August. Rev. Chambers, who has a heart for the full empowerment and transformation of women, strives to bring a message of hope and healing to every person that she encounters and works to make a lasting difference in the world.

But her greatest gift and joy came in the form of a 6 lb. 8 oz. baby boy named Jaiden Christopher, whom she and her wonderful husband, Darrin, welcomed in July of 2016 along with their 18-year-old son, Aaron.

Rev. Chambers is honored to join the In The Spirit family and serve as Senior Pastor of this great congregation. We can't wait to see what the future holds for our congregation and community!
